Lately, I’ve been hunting e-bike that gives that same raw BMX feel lightweight, responsive, and fun for tricks or street cruising. Most e-bikes I’ve tried feel bulky or too commuter-focused.
Has anyone found an e-bike setup that still feels close to a BMX ride? I’m thinking smaller frame, mid-drive motor, decent torque but still playful enough for jumps. Would love some input from people who’ve experimented.

Chimera?
Yup, I’ve tried a few. There’s this one with a 20-inch frame, mid-drive motor, but still hefty.
E-bikes are kinda the opposite of bmx at the moment. Heavy and somewhat delicate. Even the lightest ones weigh in at heavy conventional bmx weights. (~30lbs). Also to get a E-bike to weigh in at 30 pounds it’s carbon everything. Which isn’t used in freestyle bmx bikes for a reason. Either fortunately or unfortunately e-bikes aren’t coming to bmx yet.
Some companies are trying, like Crew bike co with the method 350 and 750 and Evolve with project bmx. But both of those seem to be more aesthetic focused than performance and not widely available yet.
