I bought this frame maybe fifteen years ago at a local PD bike auction, stripped it down, and converted it to fixed gear. I wasn’t too careful about it either. The dropout spacing was too wide for the cheap flip flop wheel set I picked up so I just forced the stays together with the rusty wheel nuts.
The trashed Selle San Marco saddle and slightly bent Campy crank came from an even rustier Tommasini that’s been in my basement forever (I’m now getting ready to put it back on the road).
The brakes are Paul Racers (worth more than the rest of the bike). I bought the front one soon after I converted to fixed. The rear brake came recently when I decided to get back into riding after five or so years away because I’m too old for just one brake now. The levers are Paul too, but one is short pull, the other is long pull due to me ordering the wrong one.
The bars are Velo Orange utility bars I got on clearance. I zip tied a Uline bin from work to the rack to throw my lunch in. The chop sticks prevent the zip ties from tearing through the plastic.
It’s weird, but I love it.
