it’s good runabout bike. I would use it for shorter rides and when I need to lock it up somewhere (not gonna risk locking up my road bike)
Whether you should get it or not depends on how much you would value the improvements you would get with a $1K bike. I may prefer a 1x drivetrain, or carbon forks, or fenders/rack included. I believe this one uses Microshift? The newer models have moved to Cues drivetrain

I picked up an Escape 3 Disk about a month ago because the XL size was discounted to $449. I needed a bike that fit me and didn’t break the bank. I’ve been pretty happy with it so far! Way better fit and ride than my old garage sale bike.

Had a Escape 2 bought from Facebook marketplace for about $320 usd. Loved that bike.
I used to commute to work everyday on it, liked it so much that I brought it to Mexico and used it to commute to school, only having to switch to gravel-type tires because I liked to use a semi-rural road. Sold it for $400 usd.
