Another item on my bucket list was to conquer the Rennsteig. Tuesday morning was just perfect for this endeavour.
I took the train to Eisenach, and started in Hörschel. The rules were simple: either cycle or walk. The important thing was to stick as close as possible to the original route. I planned to stay in Oberhof for one night and in Scheibe-Alsbach for the second night.
The first part took me much longer as I got lost near the Inselsberg. All attempts to get back on route failed. I arrived much later than anticipated. The next morning, however, I felt optimistic. So I continued. The second part went well, and I arrived on time. The third part was similar to day one. There were a few detours.
But I made it, smiling all the way.
I guess the total distance was about 177 km (net), but for me it was more like 190 km, given the detours and my own stupidity.

Ich bin in Jena auf dem Westpannhhof und [Musik] 7 km bis zum Groß. Diese Höhenmeter ist ja Wahnsinn. Na ja. Komm, damit wir vielleicht noch ein bisschen die Aussicht genießen können und dann geht’s gleich weiter. [Musik] Gut, also ein nicht unerheblicher Teil ist geschafft. Ich mach ich weiter mit dem Z Stunden unterwegs. Ja, geht gut diesmal. Aber ja, alles cool. Nun ja, also ich bin im Allzu nah. Gut aushalten. Ja, hier links rum geht gut. Da oben ging es los, sondern in Scheials. Von da aus geht’s dann morgen weiter über Neuhaus. Pleas [Musik] for [Musik] Also, ich bin in Scheibe als GSD Lager noch mal ein sollte oder nicht und ich bin nicht an und so [Musik] wunderschönen guten Morgen wird gut. Letzter Tag heute. [Musik] Burger [Musik] willet my blankenstein, aber ich kann noch nicht sagen, wie lange ich dafür jetzt [Musik] Das ist die Selbsbrücke. Das ist der Käel, den ich von Hörschel mitgebracht habe. Ist die Operation, wenn das nicht so geklappt hat, wie ich wollte. Schöne Aussicht, schöne Natur. M.
