I am going to put together a cockpit and want to know the feasibility of this idea

I want to use surly corner bars (picture 2) and get a different exit angle from the hose out of my brake levers. As seen in pictures 3 and 1 want to attach a banjo fitting at the lever end of the line.

My brakes are Magura MT7’s and I wanted to know if it only worked like the photos show because it’s a specific model of brake or it’s possible in my situation as well.

Thank you

Not a great idea, but it could theoretically work.
The banjo will probably be fine, I’ve never tried one in a modern magura system, though.

    BUT…

Those levers aren’t designed to work at that angle, and using them that way will likely lead to brake fade over time.

The reservoir is not designed to point that direction and any air that finds its way into the system will end up at the end of the master cylinder instead of the top of the reservoir as it is designed to do.

This may lead to brakes not working properly when you need them.

Is it worth risking having brakes fading or failing? I guess that depends on your aversion to risk or how you are going to use the bike.

Choose your own adventure, but I wouldn’t risk it.
