German place names make me hungry.
I moved recently to Freiburg and I am shocked how bad some places used to look in the 60ties compared to how great they are now
As usual, I'm incredibly jealous.
Now if only it wasn't so ugly like all cities with post-war architecture
Hey, would be great to see a video on your take on HS2, or perhaps a podcast would be better suited, regardless, it would be insightful as a brit to see your take on our ‘national trains’.
Another banger! 😀 Appreciate your work!
Looks wonderful. A pet pev I have which is there and many other cities is advertising plastered over the windows.
I boarded a tram in my home town of Newcastle, Australia recently. The windows where covered in ads and I looked down and I was standing on one, grrr
@13:24 he/she got a deathwish though
Freiburg also has one of the best baroque ensembles!
I can't believe Amsterdam has 0.3 vehicles per person. It means almost every single household owns a car. It does not looks like so.
@notjustbikes
Oh no mr slaughter
How could ube wrong
Groningen got rid of the tramnetwork if i am correct.
And it doesnt suck
IMHO a "crossover" video with NJB and Type Ashton talking about "life" and the cost of living in a walkable city
Type Ashton has a LOT of videos on Europe VS America in a cost / life ETC but not focused on "bike/walk" VS driving in the context of living / costs ETC
and with BOTH channels having a "car based" previous city and MOVED to a "human" scale city for family – life
You should see Odense in Denmark, trams , bikes and pedestrianized roads everywhere. Parks and rivers also
In the densely populated cities in Germany, do they have strict standards for builders/developers? In America, we have thin thin walls. You can hear everything. This causes tension between neighbors. Since developers hire unskilled laborers– many times from other countries– they are poorly paid and builders probably don't follow labor laws. I've lived in places with crooked hollow floors, crooked hollow walls. Would love to live in a place like Freiberg, but if I hate where I live, then I'm not sure I'd want to live that way. I really like being able to walk everywhere, though
Me in Freiburg tripping on one of those little canals: [swoons and looks around to see if i'm being watched] Ach nein 😩👀
Wow the 100th video and that finally being in germany, love to see it
yo
i absolutely loved playing with the bächli boats as a kid!
Lets hope they dont find brown coal in those hills
I love that city, living nearby in France.
But the connection between France and Freibourg is abysmal… Either from Mulhouse or from Strasbourg, the faster way is by car or bus… No easy train.
Does anyone track the number of Americans moving overseas? And why?
America is a joke. This is civilization at it's best in Germany I've had enough here in the states with this car centric prison system.
Repeat slowly:
Cheap
Russian
Energy
Now repeat that 100 times until you get it.
Another of my favourite YT channels, Sexplanations, is also on Nebula.
Nebula, where the cool kids hang out.
As an Australian I find this video to be unbelievably depressing. Across Australian cities and towns the car still rules and stroads take priority over public transport. As for walking – what a novel idea!
1:19 I APPRECIATE IT!
