Here's my scenario: I'm a private jet pilot and fly every Thursday on the airlines, and check my C Line each time. Its been great, and I've never had an issue. Once I get to my plane, space isn't an issue since our passengers rarely travel very heavy on luggage. My 6 speed C Line has been fantastic for exploring overnight spots, I have a roughly 20 mile ride planned tonight in Jackson, WY. But, being 6'6" and on the heavier side, I find myself wanting more from the C Line. I do enjoy some mountain biking around home, and the 16 inch skinny wheels are a little… unforgiving when I find single tracks on overnights (read as: I absolutely ate it on some backwoods trail in Florida yesterday). I am also fairly new to cycling, and with that being said, more gears is also attractive for easier hill climbing.

All that in consideration, should I look at stepping up to a G line for the bigger wheels and frame, or maybe look into a 12 speed?

  1. I’d go for the g line if I were you, can get a bit more exploring done.

Also – get yourself an extendable seat post fellow tall bro!

  2. The 20×2 tyres is a big upgrade from 16×1.35 but I personally wouldn’t use the G for mountain biking. Good upgrade if riding in places with less than perfect asfalt.

Sounds like your cycling use-case could benefit a G-Line, but maybe check one out before you commit.. on all accounts they’re a lot less portable. The best bike you left at home isn’t going to help you ride that new trail! Love the Brompton use, this is what it’s all about!!
