I was riding and noticed that it wasn’t been as smooth.. I don’t know much about bikes and just recently been getting into commuting. Is the wire supposed to be sticking out? And is my chain to close to the front derailer?
The gear cable looks normal, there is always an inch and half or so left so further adjustments can be made if needed.
The chain will ride close to the derailleur, yes. If the chain is rubbing against the derailleur cage, it could mean that something is amiss with cable tension, but likely that you’re cross-chaining.
TL:DR Just because you can shift into certain gear communications doesn’t mean that you actually should 😉

Are you on the large gear in the back. That would be called cross chaining and something to be avoided as it will cause accelerated wear on drive train components. When you’re riding in the larger gears in the back shift to the smaller gear in front.
