I suppose that’s true, but nice new bikes are cheaaaaaap in comparison to a new car, with the average purchase price in the US being around $50k. So go ahead, splurge a bit, get that dream bike if you are going to get some use out of it.
^(That said, I’m a total cheap-ass who mostly just buys sub-$100 bikes)
