Admittedly, I’m a newbie coming back to bicycles after 20 years. I picked this frame up last week and I’m not super sure what to make of it.
Two chainrings on the crank, flipflop hub with single cog cassette on the freewheel side.
There’s no cables attached to brakes, shifters or derailleurs. Frame and wheels are mechanically great, paint is mildly chipped in places. Seat post was frozen inside the vertical tube but I already managed that.
So? What do I do with this thing? Is a Dinglespeed Fixie a thing, or is this going to be a weird monstrosity?

Beep boop 😀
Get a crank puller, replace your bottom bracket if it’s old, get a new crankset and a single speed chain, flip the wheel, and you’re good to go.
Maybe tape the bars and all that. Brakes are optional 🙂
Bike looks great, love the paint scheme!
Not sure what you mean by dingle speed. Single speed with a derailleur?
I don’t think it’ll be easy to turn this into a fixie unless you have a wheel with a track hub for the rear. I’d throw some brakes on it and rock it as a single speed with the derailleur as a chain tensioner.
Hey we saw this last week, cool bike. I’ve never been a fan of white wheels but man they look good on this frame.
If it was mine, id be ripping all the parts off to “save weight” and just fully convert it to fx/ss, whatever youre going for. You could swap cranks, or just remove a chainring and either use washers to fill the gap or just buy shorter bolts.
An unnecessarily expensive project you got going on for your return after 20 years
The frame isn’t that special to want to warrant the conversion to fixed
Needs more saddle lol
Enjoy and good luck. Post again when the project is finished.
