I've gone through three brake cables in a year due to a small design oversight in the Klampers. It's only an issue on the rear because dust and moisture easily gets worked into the cable housing due to facing up. For those in wet or dry climates, simply putting a small zip tied clear plastic film scrap on top of it may certainly help. I put about 2km on this and the brakes still feel good, not crunchy at all.

That design flaw is on countless cable disc brakes. Yep, it’s really lame.
Even a small rubber gasket to hold off water would be great to see.
