Hi all I've been making adjustments to my bike and today during a 24 mile ride I realised I really have to reach to pull the brake levers. I've looked online to find the fix but haven't been successful. They are Shimano 105 ST-5600.
You’ll need shims, which haven’t been made now for at least a decade. Shimano produced their own, and Specialized made some as part of the bike fitting program.
I’m sure there are thousands of these shims sitting in a drawer is various bike shops around the world, but the problem is finding them. I’d troll eBay or else talk to a shop which specializes in bike fitting and has been around for at least ~20 years.

They make shims that would be placed atop the lever when it opens up. There is no reach adjust screw like more modern brake levers https://www.getbikecomponent.com/slim-shims/
