Question for the xbiking community: Would it be sacrilege to take a bike like this, and put a decent quality mid-drive conversion kit on it?
I already have a Trek FX3 Gen4 as my daily driver, and I don’t want to convert that and probably void my warranty. So I’ve been thinking of getting some decent steel frame and putting modest parts on it and turning it into a mild ebike commuter. But I’m thinking like a 200w motor with pedal assist only. Battery doesn’t even need to be big. 20 mile range would be plenty. And I need a safe battery for an apartment. I got lot’s of research to do, LOL.
