Hot favourite Emily Burgess (Astley & Tyldsley), fresh from her win in the British Championship two weeks earlier in Southampton, was the woman they all needed to beat. Three racers that could topple her were 2 times British Champion Maddie Saunders, Lily Parr (Ipswich & Under 16 World Champion) and Lizzy Rigley-Porter (Sheffield). Zuzia Klett (ULKS Mustang Å»ołędówo) is the current World Champion and will be all guns blazing in pursuit of regaining her title. Laura Watson (Sheffield) and new women’s sensation Lacey Ackroyd (Sheffield) certainly will be in the mix as will Bekah Humphries (Birmingham) and Rachel Lammin (Horspath). Amberley Gant (Kesgrave) has shown great speed in the latter part of 2025 and Lucy Whitehead (Leicester) will be there or thereabouts by the end of the 20 heats.
Australia’s representatives are Holly Greenhalgh (Salisbury) and Kayleigh Clarke (Findon) will no doubt want to make their presence felt on the World stage. Last but not least are Esmae Lewis (Newport), Lexi Curtis (Poole) and Ella Case (Kesgrave) who are the spoilers and can easily win races from the gate. Who will win?….
