Hi

I recently bought this giant tcr advanced with flat pedals on it. While trying to put my clip pedals on, i realized something strange. One of the crankset bolt hole is larger than the other. I also realized the curre t pedal bolts aren’t the same. Here are some pictures.

As uou can see the left side hole in crankset is slightly bigger.

Let me know if there’s something I can do, or I need a new crankset. Let me know also the alternative crankset models I can buy in the used market for 105 or ultegra.

Thanks in advance!

  1. The threads are stripped. You can get it fixed by fitting a helicoil, or you could look around for a single crank on ebay etc

It looks like the left crank was already repaired with a helicoil and the pedal removed the helicoil from the crank arm.

Looks like the threads in the left pedal might be damaged. This could account for a minor difference in diameter.

Might be best to replace the left crankarm, but no need to replace the whole crankset.

  4. The left has already been repaired with a helicoil. That crankset is part of the recall. You could try that.
