You can do better, I would never buy a used bike for that price without electronic shifting. He compares it to the new Addict, which had 2(?) generations in-between. If any shop still had this old addict, it probably would cost less than this used one. 10/10 would not buy

Ask for $2.4k. Damn good deal for that, looks unridden.

I would talk him down to $2k

2.5k for bike or all in? Need to factor in money for helmet, bibs, bottles, shoes, bike pump, bag for spare tubes, spare tubes…
Odds and ends add up quickly. When a new cyclist is spending 2.5k I can’t imagine they also aren’t buying high quality version of the above, which won’t be cheap. If you’ve got other friends who ride and wrench on bikes bring them with you to purchase. Good to get knowledgeable opinion before 3k cash purchase. GL!

Looks like a terrible deal for you. It can be because I’m not in the same area, but the value does not seem great.
Dura Ace not worth it for you. Go for newer 12-speed 105 or even the Di2 version and carbon wheels instead. Better all round setup.

Nice bike but terrible way to justify the price by spending on the wrong stuff, drivetrain instead of wheels for example. Mechanical Dura Ace is way more rare than di2 but definitely not any better, I think the only pro who rode mech Dura Ace in “recent” years is Peter Sagan when he won Paris Roubaix way back in 2018. Wheels are also probably aluminum. Even when this bike was bought in 2022 already was at least 1 generation old. I would look for another bike tbh.

I’d bite, it’s freaking dura ace, disc brakes and brand new pretty much

Just remember that the benefits don’t come from the cost of the bike. It’s time in the saddle.

Dude this looks like a terrible deal, and Dura Ace is just not going to make a big difference for you, better look for a nice chinese bike of the good bransa like winspace or yoeleo, you’ll easily find a more updated bike with nice carbon wheels for that budget.
FYI, this is comming from a recent buyer of a scott addict RC 10 2025, who also owns a scott addict 20 2022, so trust me that I fucking love the frame 😓
