Four friends, four KTM 1290 Super Adventure S motorcycles. A tour across the Elves and Doommites starting from the UK on a Friday morning heading across France for the first day. Nice Porsche RS and 765 km of motorway ahead of us. Weather was pretty good. Few dumb spots, but nothing serious. And looking forward to a good tour on the tour with me. Conan, his cousin France. We think them are us cuz he wears orange and Gareth. [Music] We took it in turns to lead from the front with one of us at the back and rotating riding in formation keeping an eye on the traffic. This part reminds me of the orange free states in South Africa. fat stop every now and then for a drink or uh comfort break. G providing us with dry balls and on we go. [Music] [Music] Mostly avoided any big rain. Few thunderstorms out to our left there, but we were touched by the rain. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] One of the standout features of our tour were the number of beautiful churches we saw along the way and then the toll roads. We had our little electronic toll tags um which sometimes worked, sometimes didn’t. Became a bit of a bug there during the tour. In this particular case, picked me up fine and off I went, but then Gareth got stuck. So, we had to wait for him. Anyway, that’s the way it went. Emus can do a better job, I’m sure. Here [Music] you see us entering the first of many tunnels along the route over the 10 days. This particular tunnel 6 and 1/2 km long, much warmer inside than you would imagine. And we just cut that footage to keep it short. [Music] By late afternoon, we’re approaching Mole House. Temperature was quite high, probably 28° now. Doesn’t look very warm, but it’s plenty warm. Conor stretching his legs on the bike. Been a long morning, a long afternoon, uh, but a happy one for all of us. [Music] end up in Mull House late afternoon and uh checked into our hotel accommodation for the night. Went off for some dinner. Looking forward to day two.
