I posted earlier about having a scooter crash into me on my bikepacking trip around Vietnam. The front rim of my bike is cracked and needs replacing but no one can source a 28inch rim, so the best I’ve got is an entire replacement of the wheel, rim and disc to a 27.5 inch.
My question is: for the 350kms of my trip is running a 27.5 inch wheel up front, and 28 inch wheel up back. Obviously the steering and handling won’t be perfect, but if I can get an indication on how imperfect it could be that would be great.

One thing that come to my mind is trying to find a big MTB 27,5″ front tire, 2.2″ maybe, if you have the fork clearance. That way the difference will be small. And you might even like it!
Will work OK. Normally, 27.5in uses wider tires. It results in total diameter to be the same or sometimes even bigger than 28in. As it is wider, it is also softer.
As long as disc fits into calliper and breaking is OK, you have good to go.
Have nice and safe ride, enjoy for rest of us.
No need to worry, that’s gonna work great
If Marin 4 corners: 27,5 x 50mm (2in) – this would be safe choice.
I don’t see any crack in the first photo, just the seam where the rim is joined….
