My summer peoject bike was this Trek 1100 frame I got on Ebay. Quite the learning experience, very inexpensive build (in case it gets stolen,) lots of mistakes (and parts I had to buy more than once) along the way.
But nothing beats that dopamine rush from getting it perfectly.. and riding on your own build.
This is my city bike, it's very squirrelly and weighs about 23lbs. 48T/22T gears, made for hills and jumping out of traffic (got hit by a car in July on my road bike)
I want to figure out a more aesthetically pleasing situation for my Chain Tensioner/ Derailer. If anyone has any suggestions of different setups, hacks, smaller derailers, or should i just let it be?
I want to build a tracklocross bike /snow/gravel situation – but it seems like the tire clearance is very limited on this frame. I think I max out at 700x 28
Any aluminum vintage frame suggestions out there?
