Good price, but the “paint chip” behind the bottom bracket worries me. Seems too big to be just a superficial thing

  2. I had that exact bike before. It’s a cyclocross bike.

Geo won’t be for gravel. Narrower bars. Fork angle etc. Gearing won’t be for gravel. Won’t be able to fit more than 33ish tires

Also. The trp brakes are terrible.

    Need more information, components etc

ChatGPT says it’s a good price but depending on components.

  4. Kinda pricey for a ten year old cx bike.

That is one of the first disc cx bikes. You can tell by where they mount and style of brakes and it is quick release hubs.

You can certainly ride a cx bike as a gravel bike. The tire sizes will be limited cx UCI size is 33 so don’t expect much more than that.

I fit 40s in my old cx bike but they are smooth and can’t get in the mud with them on real tight.

I would think that is kinda expensive considering it’s age. Around 500 would be pretty good especially considering you will be riding the road more with it.

The gearing will be fine if you are strong. Looks to be a 2x group so gearing should be easily changed.

I would go give her a look. And get the price way down.

Not sure what year that is, but I have a 2017 Focus Mares CX that I bought for gravel and it’s been great, also being primarily a mtber. Sure, it’s technically CX but the geometry was more on the gravely side (as gravel bikes weren’t really that big of a thing then). I run 38s and have room to go a little larger if necessary. To me, that looks like a solid price assuming there aren’t any issues. I wouldn’t recommend it for epic adventure rides, but for me it’s worked really well for my regular rides between 30 and 70 miles, as well as a century every now and then.
