Les Pays-Bas règnent sur la catégorie Juniors ! Après les filles ce mardi midi, c’était au tour des garçons de se frotter dans l’après-midi au contre-la-montre Juniors de ces Championnats du monde de cyclisme sur route 2025. Une journée décidément teintée d’arc-en-ciel pour les Oranges, puisque le Néerlandais Michiel Mouris a imité sa compatriote Megan Arens en devenant lui aussi champion du monde U19 du chrono ! En bouclant le parcours de 22.6 km en 29 minutes et 7 secondes, le champion national de la discpline s’est imposé avec sept secondes de marge sur l’Américain Ashlin Barry, et neuf sur le Belge Seff Van Kerckhove. Il succède ainsi au palmarès au Français Paul Seixas.

a bronze medal at the World Championships and uh you’re only 17. This must be an amazing feeling. Yeah, it’s incredible. I didn’t expect it before the start. Uh just want to give it my all and yeah, I’m happy I can reward all the people that helped me throughout the season with this bronze medal. How did how did you time your efforts because it was a tricky course where you have to be fast at the beginning and keep some energy I suppose at other moments. Yeah, exactly. I tried to start on a steady pace, not too hard, but then go really flat out on the climbs. Uh, and yeah, I really had to recover on the the on the descent. That’s maybe where I lost a bit of time, but uh yeah, no, I think uh I think I I paced it well and the plan was I could hold it. Now, the goal is to do even better uh in the years to come. Uh possibly in the pro levels. Yeah, let’s hope so. But it’s still a lot to go and uh first we’ll enjoy this one and then we will see it.
