Does your friend keep bikes in their garage?
I’d head over to waterton canyon, just west of chatfield. Good gravel with no cars and better scenery that south Denver suburbia. Also check out r/cobike
There’s a great section of the East-West trail just south of Mountain Ridge Middle School, heading west. In your picture, it’s just west of Highlands Point. Totally doable on my 38mm All-road bike (or at least was a few years ago). One of my high points riding out there. Not south Denver but I did a fantastic gravel-ish ride when I lived there. Parked at buffalo creek and rode up nice kitty at sunrise. So pretty. Then to the CT. Then down to the start of CT2 trailhead. Then road back around to buff creek parking. Excellent loop with minimal cars around 31 miles if I remember correct. 29×2.2 drop bar bike. 🤘🏼 that just brought back great memories

As u/Isaid_biiiiitch wrote, Waterton is nice. There’s also some gravel in Daniels Park.
Most of that ride except for the Highline Canal is going to be paved bike paths. Which is fine, but it’s not even crushed gravel. And the Highline Canal is just a walking path that happens to be gravel. Does it save anything to ride down Peoria to Main Street instead of just staying on the 470 trail back to the Cherry Creek Trail?

If you keep going south on the Highline Canal south of c470, you can connect to the East West trail which is awesome, and ideal for a gravel bike. You can take it all the way to the Cherry Creek trail in Parker, and it’s much more enjoyable than the C470 bike path through highlands ranch. Would add a considerable amount of time/mileage to this route though.
