I could get my hands on this oldish MSR Hubba Hubba NX2 for only 220€. Chat GPT says its the 2019 version with the poles being 46cm.
Would you recommend this tent? Does anyone have any negative experiences with it? I read that there were a bunch of recalls in the past due to the poles getting splinters.

Probably the best tent for bikepacking, did it came with the footprint included or you bought separately?
Generally it’s not included if i remember correctly.
I had one for a while before I returned it for a refund. Leaked badly especially on the floor, terrible for condensation, very difficult to set up well, almost impossible to set up in windy conditions, very non stealth colour.
The only positive thing I can say about it is that there is a lot of space inside. You couldn’t pay me to use one again.
By the language on your screenshots I guess it’s european variant with DAC Alu poles and slightly heavier fly with thicker coating. Poles are fine – those were Easton Syclone poles (used in american versions for a few years up to 2024 model).
*EDIT: Weight seems to match too (if yours is with the groundsheet), with all the sacks and stuff and groundsheet mine weighs 1876g.*
I have absolutely no complaints. For me, it’s the perfect 2-person tent. Sometimes I wish it was tad bit lighter (Freelite, I’m looking at you) but I appreciate that it’s fully freestanding when I camp at spots where you can’t use the stakes and you want to carry as few stones to use as anchors as possible. Weight aside, inner is roomy enough to fit 2 people and still let them put the backpacks between the wall and the feet. Vestibules are on the bigger side – cooking in rain or storing boots and huge pack / bag is no issue. Ventilation and weatherproofing is great even during a few days of rain in norwegian mountains we had no issues with the condensation or something leaking. (Yes, I use extra groundsheet)
With groundsheet or bit of hacking with an extra guyline or tapes you can set it up fly-first in a rain and keep the inner dry. Though I don’t find it common in Europe, when you really need it, being able to set up just the inner also becomes handy.
Double check the flysheet and bottom of the tent before you buy it – if the PU coating is degraded, don’t bother getting that tent.
