Eh, I don’t hate e-bikes I just don’t like some behaviors that are common among ebikers. But i feel the same way about regular bikes, cars etc. It’s not the tool, it’s the user. And it might be an isolated incident so I don’t get too mad.
Probably not the hot take you were hoping for lol

Don’t hate them…make use of them. My wife can barely pedal so I got her an ebike. Now I get a good workout chasing her when we ride together. Much faster than I was before her ebike and climb easier too.

Its not only about the legs – its about the build.
The best wattage is the one that isn´t needed. Choosing the right parts and maintain your bike is the way to go fast.

Red pill. I could use the extra exercise.

Most e-bikers have *no class.*

My eBike has replaced 1500 miles a year of driving a car since I got an eBike 4 years ago. I still ride my regular bikes just as much as I had been. Just think of eBikes as one less car.

My time on the George S. Mickelson Trail in South Dakota made me understand why E-bikes exist. Sure, an 8 mile climb at 2-4% isn’t that bad on paper, until I was at 6k feet when I come from sea level. There was no air in the air! I would go to lay down power and it just wasn’t there. I spun up the mountains at 5 MPH. I was getting passed by e-bikers constantly. I still wouldn’t use an e-bike. But I don’t blame anyone wanting to use one on the Big Mick.
My biggest problem with e-bikers is the lack of trail experience they exhibit. For example, on the Big Mick I had some e-bikers pass me on the left around a curve to the left. I told them they shouldn’t pass on the left on a curve. They argued that the head rider could see ahead of them. I asked them if they were Superman and could see through stone.
You still see problems like this with regular riders. But they usually have built up some experience before they got enough power in the legs to be dangerous. It takes some time to build up watt cannons.

e bikes are great for cargo! Even weekly groceries for a family can get heavy

I like both. I use my ebike to commute daily to work and my wife will borrow it when we go for a ride somewhere with a hill that we would otherwise take a car. I use my regular gravel bike for fun rides on the weekend.
