Just bought this bike a month ago the guy I bought it from said he never changed the tires since he bought the bike in 2018 trek fuel ex8 I noticed yesterday when riding the bike tire keeps losing air not a lot but have to air it up once a week wondering if I should go ahead and replace them with new ones and if so which ones should I buy they are 29×2.4

Knobs look good. Is it a tube or tubeless?
Tires look good.
It’s probably set up tubeless and all the sealant has dried out. Crack open the side and pour in some sealant (stans or orange sealant).
Also, with tubeless tires, you generally need to top off a couple psi before each ride. It’s still way better than using tubes.
So 7 year old tires? Sure. Knobs are there, but zoom in and see all that cracking? Yea dawg. No bueno. If you keep it on the pavement or dirt roads, you’re fine. I wouldn’t trust those where any sort of commitment is required.
Tubeless needs incremental bumps with psi as other said.
Time for new tires.
