you do that, you really need to start looking out for what attacks are to come. But that Pelaton has really trimmed down since the last lap. Tim Wellins here, the Belgian champion, won this race 10 years ago today. And uh he’s not slowing down anytime soon, is he? What a uh what a work of deluxe to have in your team. Timonss. Look at the riders who have built around Tally Pagacha. I’ll remind people that even last season, they ended the year as the world’s number one team. If you’d removed Tally Paga from the team, they still would have been the world’s number one team. Anyway, UA Emirates, they are quite a remarkable outfit. And yes, I don’t deny the fact they’ve been built on having plenty of money and able to buy buy a lot of the best riders, but certain types of riders as well. Look at the riders they’ve got here. Massive engines. Brandon McNoli sitting two riders back as well. Tim Wellins on the front. These are incredible engines. Not just brilliant climbers, but riders will go long and hard all day as well. I wonder if that is the last we’ll see if Neils Polllet Alice or whether Plet might come back and do some more. He has done a big stint today already, hasn’t he? You might just be about to see exactly that. There’s me suggesting it. Maybe Brandon Multi. Here we go. We’ve got two Americans going for this. There’s me suggesting the tactic. I didn’t necessarily think it would be McNelte, but this time through, we saw Taliba having a word back there. Now, is this the kind of step up to a Taliba dominance to make others come out and draw the sting a little bit? We will see. But at the moment, it’s Brandon McNi riding away with one other American rider as well. McN’s got what looks like he’s Gile, I think, stuffed down his top. He’s got Quinn Simmons, the current American road race champion. I have to say, Alice, quite comfortably riding across to him there. Now goes Talipaga. He’s not waiting. Maybe it is the stepping stone as well. The defending champion and the defending world champion in two weeks time is now going for this as well. And look at that. Absolutely no one with him either. He must have jumped hard. Tatty Pagata probably from in amongst his teammates. Brandon Manulti is out there and is this now is this how they want to play this finale Alice by having that stepping stone that he rides across to and if so what does Quinn Simmons do about I think it’s actually Louis Barry that he’s riding across to I think Alexander C was being dropped Barry is trying to hang on and he might now be in the perfect position to try and latch on with Tatty Pagato because it’s not too long to the top of this climb. [Music] [Music] Quinn Simmons is going to have to do nothing. He’s obviously going to have to make sure that he keeps his eye on both McNelte and Pagatcha when Pagatcha does get across to yeah see if he is going to be counted. But of course we know that UAE are very very good tactically and they will use their numbers to do what they can and hopefully Quinn Simmons is able to just sit on and save himself as much as possible. And this is the golden ticket for Louis Barry as well. The Frenchman for onto Marar wanted getting on the back of this. He doesn’t need to do anything at all. He’s done a fantastic ride today. Barry, I thought he looked good in that group today as well. He was one of the kind of most comfortable looking climbers each time we came on to the chameleon. And here he is now in a leading group of four with two teammates in there. Tally Pagata. Two two teammates of the same team of course and Brandon Monulti. And here I think we get a bit of an idea of the pecking order cuz now Brandon Monulti goes to the front. Let’s watch Tally Pagatcha. Only one of these four who was still seated at that point. He’s back out the saddle again now. the world champion. The crowd is at peak capacity now in Monal. [Music] He might be starting to struggle a little bit. Hang in there, Louis Barry. No, it’s being turned up. And I think that could be it. Or is it? I don’t want to speak too soon, but he certainly moved quickly back through that group and he’s now off the back. And that was not under the impetus. Yes, it was. Sorry. It was under the impetus of Brandon McNelte. Quinn Simmons is following this nicely. Uh-oh. Trouble is he might not have his chance here. Talipaga goes, “What can Simmons do?” Quinn Simmons gets out of the saddle because it’s kind of what you have to do. He’s not going to get any help from Brandon Multi, but Mani himself has a little look back as well. Is this it? Is this the final move? The only man who can really close it up is Quinn Simmons, unless of course Quinn Simmons blows his uh blows his hat off here and Brandon Mani goes over the top of him. We’ve got two Americans chasing the Slovenian, the man who is well, some would say already arguably on paper. Physiologically um and numerically the greatest male racing cyclist of all time. Some already saying that. I think there’s a way to go just yet and he even knows that himself. But Talipaga H warning sign for anyone who’s thinking about the World Championships in two weeks time. He’s looking rather good. This is his second race day since the tour to France and he hasn’t been to altitude apparently. Although looking at this I think we can say he’s in quite good form. Alice [Music] much the same place. uh even more dominance from this team than last year I would say because they had well the other teams the other 17 world teams in this race and the pro teams and even the Canadian national team no one had an answer to UE Emmeritus [Music] He still has a lap to go when he gets to the line this time. Calipaga, they are 12.3 km gap gap laps even. But even he is back again onto that same climb we were looking at just a short few short moments ago. It seems like the avenue panel going up past the university on the northern edge the most northerly edge of this circuit and Talipaga still on the big ring. He’s still on the big ring. He is at the top of the block as well. So, one of those were either or. But, um, yeah, it’s it’s looking like at the moment he knows Brandon Multi is coming across and we’ll wait for him a little bit and there we can see that the junction will be made. So, yeah, McNei has really recovered well on the wheel of Quinn Simmons and has been able to ride across to Pagatra and they will work together now to try and build that gap even more. Well, this is a very familiar site for this crowd. The only difference to one year ago is that it was Taji Paga by himself at this point and he wasn’t in that jersey. He hadn’t even become world champion by that point. We’ve got so used to seeing him in those rainbow bands this year. He properly put paid this year to the to the talk of the the curse of the Rainbow Bands. There’s no such thing for Tally Pagato cuz he’s won 18 races since he won those Rainbow Bands as world champion. The question is, will he be taking victory 19 today before he goes on to defend that title or try to defend that title in Rwanda or is it going to be Brandon Morty or is it even going to be Quinn Simmons who is 30 seconds behind these riders? Interesting Alice that it’s been since Brandon Morty hooked on it’s been Tally Pagatcha and if Tally Pagatcha carries these on all the way up the climb and over the top might start turning my attention to thinking it’s going to be a day for Brandon McNorty. [Applause] And nothing, no sign of Tatti Pagacho even looking around to Brandon McNorty. I don’t even think they’ve spoken much since McNorty came on. There’s no doubt about it that Pagacha eased up. He couldn’t have seen it. He must have been told it presumably in his ear, Alice, that that he was coming across unless they were so certain of the plan, he just backed off knowing around about when Brandon Morty would get on. But we know that’s not the case. But very little communication between the two of them. Heat. Heat. Talif Pagata has barely looked round at Magnoli so far. I have to say, Alice, as we look at this, it is looking more and more like this is for Brandon McNeli. I mean, maybe in a in a few in a kilometer or so’s time, we suddenly see something different. There’s a gap between them, but I’m not sure. Uh the UAT Emirates really kicked off as well and were thinning down the bunch as well to the point where we had a UAT Emirates uh le group with about seven laps to go leading by themselves as well and then basically dispatching Tip Paga who was then joined by Brandon Nope. There’s been really very little communication between them. And just watch Brandon McNei here just coming up alongside Tatty Pagata. They’re lifting it again here. There’s no there’s no showboating or hanging back from these two. They are keeping a very very honest ride out front. Boo for team UAE Emirates XRG. [Music] riding to the line together for the same team. It’s the first time in the RAC’s history this has ever happened for UA Team Emirates XRG. We look carefully to see which of these two wheels go across the line first and it’s going to be Brandon McNei. I think Danny Pagatcha deliberately with a hand on the back first as well. Utter dominance from a team who with this performance and the victory of Brandon Moldi.
