[Music] Hello there folks and welcome to Chris Motorcycles in Doncaster and welcome to the channel. What we got for you today? Well, 1998 Yamaha R1 uh beautiful bike. Imagine that when this came out, you were still 9 years away from getting your iPhone. Uh, you sit at the cinema, saving private Ryan, run DMC in the charts, but yeah, you’re still nine ways, nine years away from an iPhone. Pretty pretty ace, really, isn’t it? So, yeah, 1998 Yamaha R1. Um, 17,948 miles on the clock. Just a nice example. Um, what I’m going to do is come and grab the camera in a second. Uh, if you’re new here, welcome. Um, and if you’re an OG subscriber, welcome back. Thank you very much. Love it. Uh, but what I’m going to do in a second, I’m going to grab the camera. We’re going to have a walk around the bike. We’ll have a cheeky start up. I’ll go through the paperwork, that type of thing. So, without further ado, folks, let me come and grab that camera and have a walk around this uh fairly legendary bike, I think we can safely say. Um, right. Okay, folks. As always, we’re going to start at the back of the bike. So, let’s check out that rear tire. Now, from here, that rear tire looks brand new. In fact, there you go. We’ve still got all the little knobbles on it. So, that tire is probably done about 5 miles. So, brand new rubber on the back end. Now, the bike is supplied with its private plate, which is R1 I own. I think that’s right. Nice. Uh I do have another number plate with the bike as well if you didn’t want the letter box one on there, but I quite like that number plate. We’ve got the under tray. We’ve got the car. We’ve got the uh rear hugger there. And then we’ve got the GR Moto racing exhaust. Sounds lovely. Actually, it really does sound nice. Pair of paddock stand bobbins down there. And as we work our way up to the top of the bike, you got the seat cowl. Lovely seat. There’s no rips on the seat or scuffs or marks or anything like that. I’m very conscious about what what you guys tell me. So, uh, as we work our way down the middle of the bike, everything’s as it should be. Nice and clean. It has been well looked after this bike. And like I say, 1998 R1. It’s mad to think really, is it? You were still 9 years away from uh getting an iPhone. That’s crazy. Simpler times, e folks. Working his way up onto the tank. Tank’s nice and clean as exactly how it should be. Uh nice little tank pad protector just there. And coming around the front, you got this nice frame going on. And coming around the front of the bike, you got the uh the blue screen. Lovely front end. It doesn’t look dated, does it? It still doesn’t look a dated bike. Um mud guards nice and clean. And again, this front tire not done many miles. If it’s done 10 or 20 miles, I’ll be amazed. We’ve still got little knobbles on it, as you can see. Coming around to this side of the bike and again nice and clean. Nothing major to report at all. Just a lovely example. You’ve got an optimate cable there. The chain and sprockets looking good condition. Belly pan. Yeah, everything is as it should be, folks. What a nice looking R1. Yeah. Fantastic. So, what I’m going to do, we’re going to put the camera down just here. I’m going try and get you guys back in shot or something like that. Yeah, there we go. It’s much easier when I’ve got someone to help me, but uh never mind. Okay, so let’s just have a cheeky start up. [Music] Sounds absolutely lovely. It really does. That exhaust has got a real nice rasp to it actually. Obviously, I’m not going to give it too many revs because it’s a cold engine. So, we’re just going to nice and gently, but you can get you get the idea. Anyway, folks, so it sounds exactly how it should do. Now, uh in recent videos, uh people have commented and asked me to actually sit on the vehicle itself so that they can get an understanding of size. So, um, let me just throw me leg over and hopefully this gives someone an an idea how big this bike is. Now, I’m 5′ 10 and, uh, I could ride this bike out all day. It’s fairly comfortable to be fair. It’s not an aggressive I owned an R six which was much more aggressive riding position than that or felt it certainly uh, back in the day. But yeah, that hopefully that just gives you a bit of an idea. Someone asked me the other day if I could do it. So, I will uh follow the instructions. Okay. Paperwork wise, let’s have a look what we got. All right. So, I’ve got two keys with the bike. Um, like I say, we’ve got a a large number plate with the vehicle as well. And like I say, it’s come it does come with this private plate R1 I own, which I think is quite smart. I don’t mind that at all. Um, and then I’ve got a pile of invoices, old MOT certificates, that kind of stuff. Uh, even old, look at that. Old tax discs from09. Never gone on the never got never went on the bike. That’s quite funny. I like that. So, yeah, just a good bump of a good pile of information there with the bike. So, how will the bike be supplied to yourselves? Well, it’ll come with a fullot. It’ll go through the workshop for a full check over prior to coming out. And it will also come with a warranty with ourselves. Now, I can offer finance on this vehicle. Uh, and I can also offer nationwide or international delivery as well. So, if you live outside the country and you want it shipping, not a problem at all. If you’d like to know how much this particular bike is, there’s a description below which contains a price and a little bit more information about the bike. Also, in amongst all that text, there’s a link to our website there as well. So, you can stumble across this bike and you’ll find at least a dozen high definition photos along with a good percentage of our other stock as well. At any given moment, I’ve got about 180 bikes in the building. We’re always behind on the website just because of how busy we are and there’s only two of us. Well, actually, there’s only one of us today. Um, so yeah, there’s only two of us. So, we do get a little bit behind. We we’re always playing catch-up basically. But yeah, I’ve got about 180 bikes in the building. Uh about 120130 online as at time of filming anyway. So if you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate. Give me a call 01302760967.
