brief talk on how i got into biking

[Music] Hello. Hello. Today we are taking a little trip to the bike shop. We’re uh sorry, forgot to do my helmet. Whoops. Today we are taking a little trip to the bike shop. My pal wants to go and try out some leathers. So, we got a little riding buddy today. [Music] So, all right, let’s go. Okay, we’re also going to see if we finally sorted out this microphone. I’m hoping it will sound much better now. [Music] Oh dear. [Music] [Laughter] I reckon we’ve probably got maybe a couple of hours before it starts absolutely hammering down cuz the weather’s not looking great today and I need to sort out my smooth. There we go. Comment close, please. There we go. Okay. B. [Music] Thankfully, my boy only lives around the corner from me. And this is going to be funny when you see what bike he’s got, considering how unique it is. Get some times in [Music] juicy juice. Some of that juicy juice bus. [Music] Wow. Okay. [Music] Let’s [Music] get low. Low low. Sainsburries. What the [ __ ] What a traitor. Traitor. He’s Ah, okay. Never mind. I thought he was going to uh Tesco’s. I was going to say you’re a traitor, sir. Imagine that. That’s all. Really? Oo, there some nice cars down here. Lovely houses, man. I’d be more than happy with that for now. God damn. Look at some of these, man. Rich people’s houses, right? [Music] Absolute rich people houses. [Music] A look, he’s got his car back. I bet he’s a weapon. That was funny. But let the cashier lady said to me, “Drive safe. Watch out for idiots.” Jokes on her. I am the idiot. [Music] Oh man. Right. You need to turn down a little bit. You’re too loud. Headset telling me directions. Will you stop? [Music] [Music] I am speed [Music] around. [Music] [Music] [Laughter] I swear no matter how bad of a day you ever have riding a bike just takes everything away, you know, rough week at work, whatever, go out on the bike for a bit and all your problems are just solved cuz nothing really matters in that moment apart from riding, negotiating cars and the turns coming up and controlling the power beneath your legs. So good. [Music] [Music] [Music] So this is actually the same kind of route I think when I done my first video. This was the route I was taking, I think. pretty sure we’re not going to go. Actually, I think we’re going further on this route than we did last time. But still, I don’t know. We’re just riding. [Music] There we go. Run a couple of miles. It’s the police. It’s the police. [Music] The annoying thing with this road, like some of these turns are actually really good, but uh it’s quite a busy road nowadays. [Music] kind of pretty bike. It’s so crazy seeing someone with exactly the same bike as me cuz like I mean the CBR 600 RR in itself is quite you know it’s a very popular middle class sport bike but having it in this color scheme as well that’s just crazy. I mean I don’t know anyone else apart from Johnny with this bike. I’ve had this bike 8 years nearly around about sir and I don’t think I’ve ever seen this bike in this color scheme ever before. [Music] [Laughter] [Music] Look at him go. Go. Beautiful. Beautiful Johnny. Beautiful. [Laughter] [Music] Where’s Johnny? Bong. [Music] Well, I suppose whilst we’re waiting for my boy, we can have a little chat about how I got into biking. So, long story short, very long story short, uh started a job at work one day. um a fellow that I used to work with. He had a really old uh CB 500. His name was Dan. Um anyway, I’d never ridden a bike beforehand. Uh he taught me the basics just outside in the car park and let me go up and down the road in it once. After one lap of that, I was hooked. Uh I was 21 at the time, I think. And uh anyway, so ended up doing an A2 license. Here in the UK, if you’re under 24 or you’ve been riding less than two years, you have to do a A2 license, which means you can ride a motorcycle up to a certain power. Uh I think it’s like power to weight ratio it’s based on really. I can’t remember 100%. Someone might have to correct me down in the comments if uh if I’m wrong about that, but um yeah, and then I bought a XJ6 Diversion F as my first bike, which was all right. And then uh Oh, yeah. I bought a XJ6 Diversion F as my first bike. I rode that for a couple of years. Oh, funny disclaimer. I dropped it before I’d even ridden it. I literally took it off the center stand and dropped it. Sorry about that. You didn’t do a little speedy speed. [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] Anyway, I really hope this sounds coming out Whoa. Holy crap. You are one speedy boy. [Laughter] Oh, that pop. That’s what that sounds like. It’s like a little Anyway, [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] where was I? Yeah. So, uh I had an XJ6 diversion. Uh, I done my A2 license, passed that after the second attempt. I’ll let you take one guess on why I didn’t pass the first time. Anyone that gets it right, I’ll blow you a kiss. So, anyway, yeah, rode that for a couple of years. Um, made a lot of mistakes riding it. First time out on my own. I nearly went into a ditch because I forgot how to turn a motorcycle. you know, that hole thing, pushing and uh yeah, things like dropping it, leaving it. Uh oh, I’d love to know if any of you guys have done this before. Left the disc lock on, went to get on the motorcycle and ride off, and bump on the side. There’s no way in hell I’m the only person that’s done that. No chance. [Music] He wants to join onto the A120. Join onto the A120 if you want, boy. [Music] But I can’t talk on here, Johnny, cuz there’s too much goddamn wind. I mean, I’m sitting at 80 milesPH and I bet it just sounds like crap. Oh, he’s doing a little swirly swing. You see, everyone does the swirly swells. [Music] It was at this moment that he knew he [ __ ] up. [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [ __ ] idiot. [Music] We just had some good food. Big up KFC. [Music] He’s in a world of his own. We’re looking at a world, Johnny. [Music] Sorry, we were just debating route. [Music] All right. Well, we had some good lunch. I got taken the nick out of my chicken strips, which is great fun, by a lady that didn’t even have a uh bike license. She was saying she’s just finishing her bike license, but she was taking the me out my chicken steps. [Music] Indicator indicator. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Hey, Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music]
