This is the moment two men ride along Oral Road in Wigan on an illegal ebike. Neither had a license, neither had insurance. And moments after this CCTV was recorded, their reckless decision would change someone’s life. Caught on a separate camera just moments earlier, a woman in her 60s can be seen walking calmly along the pavement, unaware of what’s about to happen. The video doesn’t show the moment of impact, but the aftermath speaks for itself. Right. She’s in the middle of the road. She’s just been knocked over. Her head’s like open. There’s blood everywhere. She is breathing. The lad’s trying to run away as well. That’s knocked her over. It was two lads on the motorbikes that have knocked her, but her head is not good. Look at him getting off after. He’s just killed him. Get that man. He’s just killed someone. Gone. This photo was released with the family’s consent. It shows the reality of what that collision did. Not just broken bones, but lasting trauma. She spent weeks in a coma. It’s a miracle she pulled through. This is Kian Monks. He was jailed for 2 years and 3 months after pleading guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The rider he was with got a suspended sentence for the same offense. This is the bike that caused the collision. Fast, silent, and illegal on public roads when ridden like this. Police are working hard to get unlicensed ebikes off the streets, but without tougher laws and clearer guidance, more people will keep getting

"men" I think you mean "subhumans"
Wow you get longer sentence for a Facebook post.
Joke “ sentence”.
No insurance, no license,no road knowledge, no care….
Scumbags, how they're brought up these days. Police largely ignore the problem. They always say need more laws, yet they've got them all; any vehicle that can move under it's own power is classed as a motor vehicle, it's not hard.
Very sad, but seriously, 2 years? Absolute piss take
Pathetic sentence as usual, you get more for a FB post!
Sure they will come up with something that will really scare them. Bit like giving someone caught driving without a licence a ban for driving. As if they care.
Accidents happen. Why run? Its tragic but not illegal to have a crash.
Two year for nearly killing some one but if you say hurty words on face book you get 3 to 4 years
I hate those electric bikw things so much
They need to get them bikes away for kids
Kian – typical chav name
“The vehicle doesn’t show the moment of impact”
Proceeds to show the video, pause, and skip the moment of impact…
Two years…..what a joke. He (the rider) knowingly rode an illegal vehicle on the public highway. Licence? I doubt it. Insurance? Don’t make me laugh. Taxed? Nope. Leaving the scene of an accident.
It should have been five years minimum.
Stop them from being sold by untaxed corporations!
