Hi! I bought a carbon bike where the seatpost has been glued into the carbon frame (see pictures).
I need to lower the saddle height a few cm, but right now it’s fixed.
Any safe methods to remove the adhesive without damaging the frame?
Any other advise for my situation is also welcome
Thanks!

She’s dead, Jim. The only way to lower your seat is cut a section out of the seat post and glue/carbon wrap it back together. Which can be done but is quite the process
Try scraping a bit off and sniffing it. Based on the color it might be rosin (sometimes called colophony). Some people use it where carbon paste causes issues (either isn’t strong enough or causes creaking).
If it is indeed rosin it is possible to melt away with boiling water. It can also be dissolved with IPA or denatured alcohol. It’s a very slow process though when it’s this caked up.
Honestly, that looks like Roxy and it looks fairly crusty. I’d start by trying to pick as much of it out of there as you can. Some light taps with a mallet to see if you can’t get it broken up. Otherwise you’ll need to cut the seat post and carefully cut the carbon seat post down the sides and pry it out
It will probably be easier for you to try growing the appropriate amount.
If its really glued in with resin congratulations you just bought a nice wall decoration because resin is what bonds the layers of carbon together and once cured its never coming apart without destructive means.
To me though it looks more like what is for carbon frames a really old school trick from the days before carbon grip paste Rosin which is tree sap and has been used as a low strength adhesive like substance for years. If it is use a pick to remove as much as you can then use Isopropyl alcohol in much the same way you would penetrating fluid on rusted bolts. Needs patience it won’t happen quickly though.
