Just did a short shakedown ride. Love the colour. I got size S, I'm 173 tall with 80cm inseam. Feels a bit stretched out but I think I will be able to modify it to my liking.
Nice ride! So bad, they didn’t have this color for higher tier models.
I’m 183cm and bought size M Silex 700 a month ago based on test ride at shop and Meridas calculator, as L was prescribed as more relaxed and M as more agresive. Yeah, it’s quite long and little bit tall, so my hands ended up in unnatural angle at stock setup. It was quite hard to find comfortable position on it because I got numb palms in first 10-15 minutes of ride and numbness went away only 30 minutes in ride, when core warmed up. I was somehow hanging in between proper sporty position and relaxed touring. My solution was to drop stem to the lowest position (-20mm) and slide saddle more to the rear (about 8mm of max mark). Now I got some soreness in triceps after 1h30m-2h riding hard, but not when riding easy. Maybe it’s just weak triceps (haven’t done any strenght training since march), so let’s see in the spring after gym block – maybe will do real bikefit then, if still feel uncomfortable in this department.
Other than that, great bike for affordable price. 🙂

Have Silex 400 in blue from 2022. Gorgeous machine, will serve you well.
The Merida Silex frames are very long-ish comparable to other brands from what I tested. I’m 180cm with size M and I am considering S for my next Silex (4000 or 7000).
Tip: Try changing the tyres to Tufo Thundero HD 40 or 44mm after you’re done with this set. You will see a massive difference from Ramblers 🙂
