In today’s video, we will be cycling on our mountain bike through Valencia City in Spain all the way to this amazing, majestic, futuristic location called the city of arts and sciences so that we can watch this magnificent sunset. Many people go to Spain and they usually go to Barcelona or Madrid, but not a lot of people really know the wonders of Valencia. [Music] [Music] So here the car and the cycle lane becomes one. There are some cars behind me. Oh my god. At literally at that point, I was looking to the left and then I just saw in the corner of my eye those two women walking into the road. Oh, the gear just changed itself. These people are crossing the road. Actually, let me go into the cycle path here. Okay. The cycle is available, but it’s, you know, you have to share it with the pedestrians because there’s some construction on the right side. Oh, going to Rousafan. Yeah. So, when you’re crossing the small roads, make sure you look left and right and look at the road signs because the road we just crossed was actually a one-way system. And for some reason, I looked to the right first and I should have looked to the left first. So, this road now, the traffic was coming from the right side, not the left. So, you know, I don’t know if she was ringing it at me or if she was ringing it because the other people in front of me were blocking the path. So, this is basically taking us back to Peris Evalero, like the road that I told you about earlier when I said that I was setting up the camera. I don’t want to go back to that road. I’m going to try and turn left. There’s a car coming. Let me just go. I could have turned left if I was on the road. Really? I couldn’t I couldn’t turn left on the bike path. So, yeah. Okay. Oh, well, looks like I got to shout then cuz I don’t have a bike bell. Oh dear. I don’t really like to shout at people unless like um what do we say? Unless I’m like really angry and I couldn’t control myself. But see, look at this. Like this light is flashing yellow. It says 7 seconds to cross. And obviously they could just still fly through anyway because it’s yellow. Okay. Or what I could do is just cross this big avenue and just go into the other place behind it. Okay. The light is green to go straight across. Yeah, let’s just follow this guy. Okay, I think I have gone down here before. Yeah, I’ I’ve walked down here before. I haven’t cycled. Yeah. So, you can see the sun is still shining. Like, it hasn’t gone below the horizon yet. Yeah. Okay, let me just um see where this uh cycle lane goes. We’re literally like on the wrong side. The tree that tree branch is very low. Oh my god. See, look at this bike. Yeah, this bike is in front of me is basically the same as my folding bike, but I kind of I kind of feel like his his tires are slightly smaller than mine. [Music] It says green straight ahead. Yeah, I just had to overtake him cuz he’s going too slow. Sorry. So, what can you do? [Music] Oh, [Music] oh, oh. [Music] So, I’ve probably got about maybe another hour left of sun. I just like it when a natural light is shining. You know, obviously the street lights do look nice, but Oh, Christ the Lord. cuz sometimes they um the drivers are very courteous and other times they just like fly through and so I’d rather just let them go first. I’d rather just let them go first cuz obviously I’m just on a little like whatever. Lord My weight compared to the weight of the car is just really not worth it. Okay, there’s someone in front. Let’s see what kind of wheels they’re cycling on. What wheels do you have? Okay. It looks like um looks like a regular town bike. Oh, do you know what? I should have turned right because I want to go to the city of arts and sciences to um go past the tram. Let me try and do a U-turn here. Yeah. So, I haven’t gone past the tram next to the City of Arts and Sciences on the bike before. So, let me just quickly go run. Yes. For those who don’t know, the City of Arts and Sciences is just a massive complex that was built in the old river and it just has a concert hall. It has like a 360° cinema. The aquarium is next to it. There’s like a massive like roof garden kind of thing where they have a nightclub on Fridays and Saturday nights. And it’s a very futuristic white buildings, you know, alienesque kind of design and it’s one of the wonders of Valencia basically one of the Valencian engineering marvels. So, I don’t know if I should Oh, there’s another one straight ahead. Actually, another bike path. Oh, there’s a path down here. But it still looks very dark down there. I don’t want to cycle through there. I just want to cycle in the light. Oh dear. Sun’s still with us. barely aenas, you know, barely in Spanish. If I can just catch the last bit of sun on the city of arts and sciences and that’ll be a great end to the video. Yeah, my skin is very humid. I didn’t bring a drink this time, but yeah, I’m just so so excited. So definitely I want to get those bicycle racks and I need to get puncture repair kit as well and then I can start seriously planning that um Benadorm and evenar Gibralta cycle tour trip and I can’t decide whether or not I mean I should buy camping gear anyway but I can’t decide if when I do my first long distance trip if I’m just going to like look for a hostel to stay in or if I will actually try and camp out somewhere. I mean, I would like to just stay in a hostel, but the problem is like look at all of this. You know, if you just like stay in a hostel, you know, there’s always a risk of your bike getting stolen and then your whole plan is just ruined and then your whole like I mean, obviously I could just buy another cheap bike for €20. How you doing? I could just buy another cheap bike, but you know, every time I buy something, it always has sentimental value. So, like this is the second bike that I’ve purchased in Spain. Um, hurry up. Can you see the tram on the left side? They got some fake grass in the middle. It’s amazing. This is the second bike that I’ve purchased in Spain and um it’s the first mountain bike that I’ve owned in decades, you know. Oh god. Here we go. Am I supposed to turn left here or Yeah, I’m supposed to go straight and then turn left at the end. See, that was just crazy. The lights were flashing yellow. Like I said before, the cars are just like flying to the right across the cycle path. And then there was another cyclist in front of me and I couldn’t tell where he was going, if he was going to go straight or if he was going to turn right. And you know, thankfully the last car actually stopped. So this has red for the pedestrians and red for the cars. It’s like it’s red for everybody. Like who’s supposed to go Yeah, definitely there’s like an error, a signal error with these lights for sure. Right, so here we go. Anyway, we’re going to go past the tram stop. See the way the guy is like standing on the on the pedals and pumping it like that. It’s not necessary to do it here cuz it’s like super flat. It’s not necessary. I don’t know why he’s doing that. He must have the gear. He must be on the wrong gear for why he’s doing that cuz it’s not necessary here. So, this person’s actually like, you know, polite and conscientious. So I had to say thank you with my hand cuz that person saw me coming and decided to like wait for me to cross. Some people are conscientious and have empathy and you know are kind. So even now I feel like I need to this part I think there’s a very very slight incline because now on this gear my knees are like hurting a little bit. So I’m just going to turn the gear down a little bit. Yeah, it feels a lot better now. It’s like less strained. And um I believe the seat is the right height. Yeah. And um I think I know in the first video with the mountain bike I said that I I felt like I was adjusting to the you know having to lean forward more than usual because of the height of the handlebars. But like today I do feel a lot more comfortable leaning forward. But yeah, one of the reasons why I didn’t want to buy one of those racer bikes, you know, those highway bikes or whatever they’re called, is because those ones, the handlebars are even lower on those ones, and you really have to lean forward. And I I just I just feel like I’m going to like fall forward off the bike. Let’s just like let’s just uh have a look here. So this is El Sal, the shopping center. So we’re just going to go through here. So sometimes I think this is the part where um Oh no, you see over there like the water is like spraying. So you can go through there and take pictures and record the video. I would like to cycle through there, but obviously it’s occupying. Oh, look. The people are moving. The people are leaving now. Maybe I can cycle through there. I don’t want to take people’s fun, but Oh, dear. No. So, now someone else is taking a picture in there. As they say, patience is a virtue. So, you know, sometimes it can take 5 minutes to take one photo for some people. So, obviously if it was like 100 p.m. 2:00 p.m. it would be like fantastic. Like the sun would be actually the sun would be shining like glistening in the water. Yeah. So the woman the woman finished taking the picture and then the child went back in there and then you know YouTube is really like fussy like they asking you if there are children appearing in the video. So I’m like I don’t want to feel I don’t want to go through there and then she just gets filmed. She’s going back in there. Here we are. Finally. Finally. Finally. It’s available. Oh my god. Finally available. Hello. Oh my god. The water is actually dripping a little bit on top of you when you go in here. So when you speak inside there, you it’s almost like a cave. Like the um the sound of the water actually traps the sound inside. Yeah. Very interesting. Oh my god. Uh here you have a churros chuck. A churro’s truck. [Music] All right. Living on the highway.
