I've got a 2019 Kona Sutra LTD. It's my do everything gravel and bike acking rig. I've recently become more interested in road cycling, racing and generally trying to push myself and go faster. While I love this bike, it's a bit heavy to carry loads, and my gearing is tuned for loaded climbs.
As a sufferer of GAS, I keep looking at new, lighter gravel bikes. Should I just try racing this? Slap some lighter wheels or maybe a carbon fork and giver?
As I'll likely be uncompetitive in a race, is there any point to a lighter, racier bike? Curious on thoughts. I know, I know N+1.

Enter and ride what you got. I see all kinds of bikes in gravel races. See if you like it before dropping a wad of cash.
