  1. The blue one, but I’d say neither and also provide a 99spokes comparison.

The 1x drivetrain and hydro brakes are a big plus on the blue bike.

  2. The Ceres. It looks like its a little more up to date in the geo department.

    Plus internal cable routing.

Unless you can get the GT for a few hundred less (and even then)

    GT but not that GT.

First, where are you located? Knowing what bikes are available in your market will help a lot.

Next, what is your budget and in what currency?

I’m discounting this particular GT bike or two reasons one is the triple chain ring in front. That tells me that either the design is dated or the bike itself is a much older model that whoever the vendor is is trying to get rid of .

You should know that the GT line was discontinued by their holding company. I hope it comes back because they built some of my favorite bikes back in the day.

If you are in the lower 48 states in the US USA, I recommend this bike for a beginner

Out of these two, the Ceres is the better bike, but it is a 27.5. I think there are better bikes for the same price. Get a 29er with modern geometry.

Neither! They don’t even have a conical steerer headtube. Go on Pinkbike.com and buy a used bike that has higher spec’s.

If you have to choose between those two, get the Ceres. You don’t want a front derailieur. That’s a pretty tough upgrade down the road because it involves the wheel and the hub as well.
