Considered 'the easiest and most approachable' Ultra by elevation gains in Polish gravel events calendar, I decided to try it as my second start ever this August to end the season with a bang.

Long story short:
– Stops every 80km to replenish water (it was quite hot!)
– We catched 2 storms during night
– Last 120km with knee issue
– Got bitten by a dog 40km before the finish 😂 thankfully not a deep bite, I managed to crawl myself to the end.
– Absolutely beautiful scenery, especially during early morning when the only thing you can hear is the humming of the sea next to you and nothing else
– No sleep taken but had to stop couple of times to stretch and eat something more than just gels and 7Days croissants 😂

Gear wise, I added couple of new things:
– first time trying camelback from USWE (1.5L of water). Absolute must-have now!
– replaced Merida OG seat with Selle Italia Novus Evo Superflow Gravel (that's a mouthful!)
– new shoes: Lake MX238-X wide to compensate for my wide feet. Great on comfort but not sure if I will switch to CX201.
– new Bibs: Northwave Extreme Pro 2. Lasted about 350km without any pain! After that I should have switched to fresh pair but was too tired, so it's on me.
– used BBB rails to move the bottle cages around so I could fit the bags

Bike: Merida Silex 400 2022, packed with BBB bags. Tufo Thundero HD 40mm tyres.

Total moving time: 25hrs
Completed in: 31hrs
Finished 24th of about 100ish

Should have gotten much lighter on gear (food and clothing) but I won't complain.

Can't wait for next season!

  1. Looks like a fun one. I need to add it to my list of Ultras to complete in the life time. How was the surface? Any true gravel or bunch of bike path/ road?

    Gratulacje!
