Hello community,
My friend 3d printed for me two fork cages and I have now bought the recommended bolts M5 16mm for my canyon grizl AL 6.
However seems that the cages are quite fat and there is little screw left to screw it on the fork. Do you think that will work? Any advice is more than welcome.

It’s one of the cheapest parts of bikepacking gear. I don’t know why people try to print it. (And I 3D print myself.)
But to answer your question: You risk damaging your fork threads with the force applied to too few windings. There are guidelines for that, maybe you can find something online. But bike forks are different to industrial machinery metal parts as well, less robust I would guess. Honestly I wouldn’t risk it and just get longer screws. Better to spend 3€ than to replace the fork.
