Day 6 of my €20 Italian budget adventure 🚴🇮🇹
Last night I snuck into an abandoned resort on the hillside for a place to sleep. Had to move quietly — if I got caught, it would’ve been serious trouble.

In the morning I cycled through Genova, then kept pushing along the coast until dark. Every euro counts, so it’s all budget food, long days in the saddle, and finding spots to crash wherever I can.

This trip is raw bikepacking — no extras, just the challenge of living on €20 a day while cycling Italy.

There was just someone up there. We got to stay down and stay quiet. Italy on a budget. Today is day six of my Italian budget adventure. In the morning, I reached Genova. It’s nice to be back on the coast after 1 month in land. Finally, after cycling from Calala, France, I was at the coast again. Today’s climb is upon me. Getting through these climbs is just a daily occurrence and something that needs to be done. Right, I found a place to stay tonight, but I’m going to have to sneak in. I spotted an old abandoned cliffside resort, but I would need to get through the car park without being seen. Okay, I think I’m in the clear. Delighted I had a place to crash with such a cool view. Please drop me a follow so you don’t miss out on the rest of the adventure. Let’s go.
