Seriously considering riding the Mata Atlantica next June. Plan is to fly to Sao Paulo (GRU) and take a bus to Curitiba, then ride the Mata Atlantica north to Petropolis and take a bus to Rio (Leblon).
Now, having read countless warnings WRT safety in large cities, I'd appreciate feedback about:

Is is reasonable to bike out of GRU to Sao Paulo's bus station (terminal rodoviário do tietê) where I'd take a bus to Curitiba?
