Highlights from the GP of Portugal, round 5 of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship.
Dry and dusty conditions were on the menu for riders in Vila de Rei.
[Music] There’s only one goal. Anytime you come to a race, right? To win. Please remain seated. [Music] For sure the from the start to now the season has been really good. Uh but I will never take out the gas because uh is still three three rounds. Uh that means six days of racing. Uh champ is long. Uh many riders can be there fighting for the top step on GP. So my plan is to do what I’m doing uh right now and having fun on having fun of uh on my KTM because when you are having fun on the bike uh everything comes easier and uh it’s easier to put the gas. [Music] [Applause] three rounds to go for sure. Uh it’s going to be a good end of the season because uh I like when he’s a bit intense. So happy to arrive here um and and ride good till now. But uh I think we are ready to for the last three rounds. Uh we feeling we’re feeling good uh with the bike. We had a good six days where I improved my feeling and my sensation with the with the bike. So uh happy and ready to go into the last three round. Honestly, I’m I’m feeling good. Uh the last the last one in uh in Wales was a really good one. Uh was really close from Joseph. So I think I make a step in a good direction. So no, now I want to to keep the same same way and uh try to to fight with him again, try to beat him also because like you say there is in Portugal I win my last GP. So my first Anduro GP. So now I’m ready. I know my my speed and fitness is good now. So I think I can fight fight fight with him. [Music] SP [Music] [Music] I’m just throwing that up. [Music] [Music] Heat up here. Sure. Good way to start to be for sure is just the super test but I’m happy to start like this winning the super test. Tomorrow will be long day of racing. It will be tricky because the ground will be difficult but uh I feel good on on my KTM and yeah can wait for tomorrow win 100%. [Music] Yeah, here the test are uh quite different from what we found this year uh at all races. Uh so it’s the first time that you find these conditions. It’s pretty dry and uh test are not super technical like uh we don’t have any super tight or super technical section but is for sure not easy to go fast because uh the ground is quite loose a lot of stone a lot of uh dust on top. So especially on the first lap where we don’t have any lines it’s going to be quite slippery and quite uh yeah loose. But I think after a few lapsu it will be quite bumpy and with a big rat with dusty rat and uh uh I like this condition so I hope to have a good weekend. Heat. [Music] Heat. Happy on today race because not a win and GPU. So really happy about my day. Was feeling good with the testing with the bike. So it has been a it has been a good race race day and but more also again was really good. So happy with that and thanks to your team, all the people involved and let’s dive into in a few weeks. It was a good day of racing. I finished P2 GP and P1. Yeah, happy about my day. Just I made too many mistakes in the new test. then unlucky that we were unlucky because they cancelled the last two tests and we went we were there for battle but anyway it’s a good result for me here now it’s time to rest a little bit and then we have the Italian GP so let’s go there for us again stop pretty good with I was leading end of lap one but uh then I start to make some few mistake uh I wasn’t uh feeling being super good on all the test and uh and after I think and Joseph were more fast than me. So I tried to do my best but was not enough. So second and third is not that bad in considering the the the ground and the test that I don’t like so much but uh it’s not my best GP but I take some good points and now I focus on Italian GP in two weeks Macdonald.
