I'm trying to remove my BB but when I rotate one side, the other rotates with it. Unfortunately, there are no markings indicating the threading direction, but I assume it is English threaded because there's nothing unusual/Italian/French about my bike as far as I know. Irrespective of thread direction, the entire BB rotates no matter what direction I go. How do I solve this?
Worth mentioning that an almighty crack rang out when I initially loosened it. I nearly shit myself thinking I broke my frame or something but I figured that the BB must've been a little seized and that the noise was just it loosening. Either that or the threading isn't English and I over-torqued in the wrong direction.
Thanks.

Remove no drive side first anticlockwise then remove drive side clockwise
Are you quite sure it’s not a pressfit BB in a shell?
Don’t use your torquewrench for loosening stuff.
Is it a press fit?
is it a thread together bb? you have to undo both sides at the same time. as far as i remember these frames are bb30
Is there a chance that the bb is the kind that screws together inside the bottom bracket shell, like a Wheels Manufacturing bottom bracket? If so, that would require another spline tool on the other side holding it in place, while you’re trying to unscrew it.
Thanks for the responses so far, I believe the right answer is that it is a thread together bb. I can see the threading on one side on the inside of the bb. Looks like I just need another tool to hold the opposite side as I unscrew.
Dude WTF do f it up …on the real boil some water an I mean boil some water once it’s boiling turn off the heat…dip it in the water for 2mins thank me later guarantee it will work
Stop using your torque wrench to break things loose. Buy a bigger ratchet or a breaker bar.
Ummmm, get the other half of the tool.
Why do you want to remove it?
