Recently did the Tahoe Twirl with a friend and it was EPIC! These are some photos I snapped along the way with my film point and shoot.

Amazing singletrack, stunning scenery, and perfect weather the whole time. Sadly the flume trail is closed, but we found a route that went around the closed area. The reroute was beautiful and challenging, but probably added another day to the ride. It took us 6.5 days with a mellow pace (could’ve done it in 6, but wanted to squeeze in an extra night of camping rather than staying an extra night in Reno). Some highlights include shredding the Tyrolean downhill trail, camping in a field of blooming lupines, and calling a bear “good boy”.

My buddy was underbiking on a rigid ATB from the 80’s, and was bonking hard due to living at sea level with no mountains to train on, but he and his bike survived! Lots of type 2 fun on this route; it definitely deserves its 8/10 difficulty rating.

Shoutout to Nick from Manzanita Cycles for hosting us in Reno, and for the improved route!
