I just need a bike, any bike for getting to and from work alongside any other miscellaneous places I need to go. Pretty broke so I thought the price of 288 was pretty appealing and generally people seem to say it’s not bad. I’m not one to care about specs and specifics, I just need to know that it’s not gonna break down and kill me in my first month using it. I’m 5’8 so I’m pretty sure the 54 cm would be correct for me if I’m not mistaken.

Check out r/budgetbikeriders, it can be alright but obviously you won’t get a professional assembly like you would from a proper bike shop, so realistically the bike is only as good as you are at learning to do stuff yourself. And be prepared to put some money into solving common issues.

I own the flat bar version, and I’ll say this. For that price point, you will not find a better new bike for less. I don’t commute with mine, but I ride it about 50 miles a week. It’s awesome. I have a rear rack and do grocery runs. I take it on trails. I ride it through my neighborhood. Everything just works on it. I chose to assemble it myself.

There’s a Facebook group dedicated to that bike. Everyone there loves it or loves how easy it is to modify it to what they want. One guy rode it across the USA, about 2300 miles, right out of the box.
