Rebuilt my 1996 Specialized Ground Control, mostly for nostalgia and for some bikepacking, then rebuilt a Kona Stinky amd converted it to a 1X. Had fun with both but the Ground Controls geometry is so outdated and I got tired of constant pedal strikes with the Stinky on cross country so I finally pulled the trigger on a decent modern all mountain bike for general use. Spent the afternoon exploring the Pilchuck Tree Farm and loved ever second of it.
