    Spanish PM supports pro-Palestine protests at Spain’s cycling tour



    Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez voiced his support for pro-Palestine activists who had protested at Spain’s La Vuelta cycling tour. Their demonstrations had forced an early end to the tour, with organisers cancelling the tour’s final stage in Madrid.

    Sanchez, who has been outspoken in his criticism of Israel’s war in Gaza, has also threatened to boycott Eurovision 2026 should Israel participate.

La primera es que sabéis que hoy termina la Vuelta a España y vaya por delante nuestro reconocimiento y respeto absoluto a los deportistas, pero también nuestra admiración a un pueblo como el español que se moviliza por causas justas, como la de Palestina. ¿Y qué tiene que decir la oposición ante la barbaria en Gaza? ¿Qué dice la oposición ante la barbaria en Gaza?       What about cancer patients, dialysis patients, the elderly, babies, women, young people… can you imagine the suffering? unimaginable…

      A lot of respect and admiration for our Spanish sisters and brothers for standing for justice and electing politicians with dignity and a spine. Wish I could say the same about Italy.
