After riding 15000km with Schwable Marathon plus tyres we decided to swap to Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour tyres. After about 5000KM we started to Notice a tear in the sidewall of my front tyre. We stitched the sidewall to prevent further damage. After another 5000km a tear formed in my rear tyre however this was unable to be fixed due to the tear being lower down on the sidewall. Around the same time a minor tear formed on my brother’s rear tyre.
Compared to the Marathon Plus tyres we had used previously the sidewall is much thinner on the Marathon plus tours which I think is the main cause of the issue as we never under/over inflate and are mostly cycling on smooth tarmac roads.
