Hi everyone,
I'm planning a cross-country cycling tour and would like your insights on routing and timing. I have off from work from February to March/ April. which comes with limitations.
My current thought is to start on Route 66 in February and switch to the TransAmerica Trail around Springfield, Missouri, to end up on the coast. I know about the Southern Tier but I'm just not as interested in that route.
My main question: Is this February-March timeframe doable weather-wise? Specifically, is Route 66 far enough south to be rideable in February?
Any advice on the feasibility of this timing would be greatly appreciated!
