The hub is Eclat shift freecoaster it was fine i had it for like 8 or 10 months for now but today this happened and the crancks are so heavy to move like i have the chain super tight
Sort your chain out it’s full of stiff links.
Hub, open it up take a look, can’t diagnose it without investigating further.

With a chain that jacked up.. id imagine that is the cause of the issue. Its hard to even imagine what that would cause , ontop of being borderline dangerous because the thing dosent even flex. Im surprised it hasn’t snapped off. Chain needed changed months ago. It seems like the whole hub assembly is loose. Probably from the bolt beside flywheel has ben loosened by the chain being to stiff it basically un screwed the bolt. This is just a guess because this thing is wildly jacked up. But could try the bolts on either end of hub.. could be too loose.. or toot tight. Either could *somewhat* cause this. But hub might not be lost. Bearings may be damaged tho which is why it dosent engage correctly.

Look up how to service a freecoaster, don’t know what the internals are like on the shift but it’ll be easy and cheap to do, it might just need a new clutch or bearings. All you’ll need is a spanner, allen keys and a hammer with some wood or something to prevent you bashing the hell out of the axle.
Also that chain is buggered.

Open the hub and look for obvious damage to the internals. If need be post them here and someone might be abled to help you. Also in gods name release that chain from it’s suffering and get a new one

I ride the same hub. It aint cooked.
Sometimes the pawls only half engage and make this sound.
But thats kinda normal with this kinda coaster.
You just need to keep the cone nuts tight. Thats the trick.
You could open it and ad minimal drops of dry lube, but that sound is kinda normal.
The real issue is that fucked chain..

I have the same hub, it does that in freecoaster mode it’s just the pawls being half engaged. It won’t do that while riding tho once I lost a pawl and when I ran it with only two it did make that noise a lot more

I’d bet bet that replacing the chain (which is clearly putting stress on the hub when those frozen links are in certain positions causing it to go tight) would solve the issue.

This is normal with this hub. Don’t panic, I ride the wethepeople hybrid with the same internals and I sent them a nearly identical video on the first day I laced it up.
They explained it to me and it made sense. When you pedal forward with a freecoaster you’re meant to give it an extra quarter crank to disengage the hub and pull back.
The sound you’re hearing is the pawls getting propped up just enough to hit the ratchet ring inside and basically act like a cassette. This will only be happening when your hub is just about to engage.
There is no need to open the hub up, absolutely no need to grease it or do any kind of maintenance. Just learn to disengage it first.
Try this, pedal as you were, and then pull back about 45degrees, does it still happen?
Just noticed the part about your cranks not spinning freely, did you open it up recently? There is a washer inside that driver sits on, this washer is directional and even though it doesn’t look like it, if flipped the other way around it will stop your driver from spinning freely. If you didn’t take it apart snd this just started happening randomly, just loosen up the driver side cone a bit, it’s probably worn out.

That chain is so fucked, 0 zero no zip nothing lube or pins are way too tight/bent but shits in need of a change your freecoaster if rideable at a level is still salvageable

My hybrid does that, just fully engage it and it’s fine

You need to replace that chain for starters
