Only two trips in and I’m absolutely hooked!
—> Gear:
-Specialized Diverge E5 Elite
-Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 Bikepack
-REI Link Framebag
-Ortlieb Quick-Rack
-Sea to Summit Big River 20L
-Cedaero Tank Top Bolt-on
First trip I did dual Ortlieb panniers and wasn’t a fan. Could really feel the added wind resistance and they allowed me to take too much stuff. Moved to a single dry bag and love it. Hit some 45 MPH descents and a bit of bumpy terrain, had no issues, though I might swap the NRS straps for Voile rack straps for ease of use and to clean up the look. The REI framebag was giving me a lot of grief getting the main zipper to close, but I have a custom bag being made right now, so the REI one will probably be relegated to my backup bike. The Cedaero top tube bag is seriously amazing. I’ve abused that thing so much over the past 3 years and it never fails. The Big Agnes tent is awesome as well. Setup is a breeze and I don’t gotta fight it to get it back in the bag. I added some Voile straps to help secure the tent more to the bars. I just don’t trust those plastics clips keeping the front wheel from eating my $600 tent and throwing me over the bars.

That is a slick set up. There is nothing more freeing than taking only what one must and breezing by everyone else.
Nice one fella. This is my set up. I’m more geared up for the road at the moment, but like yourself, I’m hooked on Bikepacking now!
In just under two weeks time I’ll be cycling around the complete coastline of Sardinia with a friend.
My kit is all Topeak bags;
Topeak Tour guide Handlebar Bag
Topeak Midloader Frame Bag
Topeak Backloader Saddlebag
2 x Topeak Stembag Freeloaders
2 x Topeak Versacages attached to Topeak Wishbone
2 x Topeak drybags for Cages (not in picture).
I’ve also got a Bikepacking and Cycle Touring YouTube channel if you fancy having a look and subscribing.
It’s Mainly short vertical videos for now but hoping to put some long format stuff out from the Sardinia trip and beyond.
Here is the link, if you fancy a look.
