[Music] in the water. [Music] The fence. Oh my god. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Supposed to be quite an exciting day for us. Bit nervous actually. Something very different to what we do on a day-to-day basis. We’ve got to learn to not just turn left. I’m just glad it’s a simulator. I’m just hoping I don’t crash it. I think I’m definitely going to crash it. Here we are. I’m excited. Hello. Hello. Hi, Phil. Sophie, Harry. Nice to meet you. Hi. Feel that you’re here to tend to be racing drivers for the day. Sounds good. That’s the plan. Get the feeling you’re going to be competitive. Just a just a little bit. [Music] So, here it is. Wow. That’s really cool. Looks a bit like a spaceship. Yeah. So, obviously the whole point is trying to make everything as realistic as we can. It doesn’t move. It’s not a motion sim. All the steering wheel, all the pedals, the way that it interacts and feels is as close to the real car as we can get. It’s the real deal. It’s the real deal. Biggest thing with it is getting in and giving it a go. Can’t do that without you looking the part. So, we got one more surprise for you. Wo, that’s so cool. That is very, very cool. It’s even got our names on it. Wow. Now we feel like the pressure’s on. [Music] Okay, car’s all yours. Let’s go. Just uh warm the tires up a little bit shortcut. pressure has got to him. He’s getting excited. It’s definitely smoother. I’ve got a feeling Sophie’s going to win this. He’s giving up. No, no, I’m not giving up. All right, that’s it. That’s our qualifying over. I’m nervous. [Music] I I just spun at the end. We’ll see what Sophie does. Okay. Feel off the brake. Car’s all yours. Suspense is growing. Nervous. [Music] Wow. It makes your head go all funny. Yeah. Oh, I’ve missed it. Yeah. Don’t worry. Just drive through the wall in front. That’s so weird. It looks easy from out here. Is she holding her breath or was she feeling seasick? Oh, I think I’m in the water. I think we’ve missed quite a lot of circuit there. Go, go, go. That’s it. Stop there. Stop there. Well done. Good job. So, who won? So Harry, your qualifying time was a 1289 Sophie. Oh no. 297. Oh no. Maybe won the qualifying. Well done. Good afternoon. Hello. Hello. Nice to meet you. I’m Sophie. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. How was it? I mean, I won. So, let’s just start with that. Oh, it’s close. And seven 810. In all fairness, London is one of the most difficult track that we have like in the calendar. When you eat a bump, like it’s very easy to spin the car. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. How’d you find today, Sophie? I think it was really fun. What I’m really excited about is seeing the drivers get on the track. I think it’s going to be a shock to them. It’s It is a lot harder than just riding a bike. [Music] How are you? How you going? Welcome to you to the drone. So, we’ve been to where you guys train and race. Now, welcome to our place where we train. But this is the the home of British cycling. There’s about 20 of us that train here full time. Sophie’s going around now, so she’s training today. It’s steep. It’s very steep. It’s 42°, 250 m long, and basically we’re in here almost every day. You excited to have a go? I need my support wheels uh to not collapse inside. Yeah, you can’t get stabilizers on these bikes. So, um yeah, you’re going to have to wing it, but you can’t go and track dress like that. So, I think we need to get you some proper proper cycling kit. warming up. There you go. [Music] Hi guys. Hello. The kit looks really cool. How does it feel? Ah, be a little bit embarrassed. So much tighter than the the driving suits that you right shoulder check. Big pull with the left hand and push with the right. And we’re off. Right. There we go, mate. Just relax that upper body. I am coming. But not that easy. [Music] He’s going to go so fast. [Music] Is that the fence? Oh my god. They’re going to be better here than we were on the Sims, which is now wounding our competitive egos. Should we go get on our backs and get on with them? Pretty impressed. You got You’re going too fast for me. No, I’m kidding. [Music] [Music] How’d you find the track? It was very cool. It was fast. My legs are tired. No, it was fun. It was nice to follow you guys because it it naturally makes it much kind of easier. The choice of lines also for me was actually quite quite cool. The the similarities actually with what what we do in our sport or also so I also heard we’ve got another challenge to do in London. Static bikes distances energy output. Let’s say energy output. Okay. Okay. We might do all right with that. We can produce a lot of power. Yeah. [Music] Hi guys. Good to see you again. All right. How are you? Hi guys. I’m Joe Poden, technical director with Mahindra Racing. So I hear that you managed to get onto the simulators. How did you get on? I mean, okay. All right. There was a little bit of crashing. A lot of crashing. How do these guys get on on your bikes? A lot better than we got on in the simulator. Yeah. Yeah. They took to it really quickly. Well, that’s good because we’ve actually got one more challenge for you this weekend and that’s in relation to what it takes to actually get a Formula E car round the circuit. Last year here the lap time for setting the qualifying pole positioned was a 1 minute and 9 seconds. [Music] So, we’re going to see by comparison on these static bikes how much kinetic energy you guys in teams can generate and where that would put you around the lap relative to a Formula E car. Both of you in teams, you get to choose who goes first. I think the driver should go first. I think the driver should go first. Ready? Okay, we’re going to start. 3 2 1 go. We’re going up up. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. This is just hold it. Oh, right. Come on. Come on. Keep going. Keep going. Push. Push. Stay at that. You’re winning. You’re winning. You’re winning. You’re winning. Just hold that. Just keep it steady. Keep it steady. Keep it steady. All right. Come on. Three, two, one. Okay. Nice. That was really good. Ready? Three, two, one, go. Come on, boy. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. So fast. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Perfect. Continue. Continue. Continue. Continue. Come on. We can still do this. We can still do this. Come on. Three, two, one, stop. The bike’s definitely broken. Well done. Okay, so in terms of who’s won this challenge, around6 W hours in the lead, bike number two. So well done. Well done. Thank you. Which in terms of where that actually get you around the circuit is not very far for a green car in the consumption. You’d be lucky if you’re out of pit exit here. Honestly guys, I respect you a lot. A lot. I didn’t expect to feel like that after 30 seconds. M it’s amazing how much energy you can get out in that time um and empty the tank at the beginning and then like you were actually 15 seconds to go like it just stopped. It just stopped. You ran out of energy. I ran out of power. Thanks a lot for uh having this uh really nice challenge. Great experience. Yeah, it’s been really fun. Yeah. Thanks for having us and showing us around and good luck this weekend. Appreciate it. Thanks. Oh, I’m definitely more destructive than Sophie. [Music]
