Here is all the stuff I had to remove from my bike just to change a small cable grommet. A two hours work just for this, and I guess I'm lucky because I don't have to bleed my rear brake.
Last frame I said fuck it and just taped the cables to the outside.
Routing tool does make things easier, but still can be a pain.

It’s a nightmare until you buy the $20-30 Amazon cable routing tool kit with magnets to help you fish cables. I would never ever work on open internal routing without one. Pays for itself rather quickly in hours and headaches saved.
